Our Beliefs: Faith, Obedience, and Service in Yeshua

At our church, we hold to timeless truths rooted in Scripture, shared in a way that speaks to everyone—whether you're exploring faith for the first time, rediscovering it, or walking in it daily. We blend ancient wisdom with everyday relevance, inviting all generations to discover hope, purpose, and community through Jesus (Yeshua) the Messiah. Here's what guides us:

Salvation: God's Free Gift Through Jesus Sacrifice.

We believe salvation is God's incredible gift of grace, available to anyone who trusts in the life-changing death and resurrection of Jesus the Messiah. His blood shed on the cross completes the ancient sacrificial promises in the Torah (the first five books of the Bible), offering forgiveness and freedom from sin for everyone who turns from their old ways and believes (Isaiah 53:4-6; Romans 3:23-25; Ephesians 2:8-9). Jesus is the ultimate Lamb of God who removes the world's brokenness (John 1:29), and only through Him can we find true life that lasts forever. Our church is all about sharing this good news openly—whether you're  young, old, skeptic, or seeker—inviting you into a real relationship with the God of Israel. This faith brings new beginnings and connects us all as part of God's family (Ephesians 2:11-13). No matter your background, you're welcome here to explore what this means for you.

Obedience: Living Out God's Timeless Instructions

As people who follow Jesus, we see the Torah as God's holy, wise, and life-giving blueprint for how to live well (Romans 7:12). Jesus didn't cancel it out—He lived it perfectly and showed us how to embrace it (Matthew 5:17-19). Empowered by the Holy Spirit (Ruach HaKodesh), we choose to follow its principles on morals, ethics, and traditions in a fresh, New Covenant way. This includes honoring the Sabbath (Shabbat), celebrating biblical holidays, eating mindfully according to Scripture, and practicing justice and kindness—not to earn God's love, but because we love Him back and want to live authentically (Deuteronomy 6:4-5; John 14:15). We celebrate Jesus's Jewish roots while embracing everyone—Jews and non-Jews alike—as equal partners in this journey (Romans 11:17-18). Whether you're new to these ideas or they've been part of your life forever, we invite you to join us in discovering how these ancient practices bring joy and meaning to modern life.

Service: Putting Faith into Action Like the Sheep and Goats Story

We're inspired by Jesus's teaching in Matthew 25:31-46, where He shows that real faith shows up in how we treat others—especially those in need. It's about rolling up our sleeves to feed the hungry, quench thirst, welcome outsiders, clothe those without, care for the sick, and support the imprisoned. When we help "the least of these," we're serving Jesus Himself. We don't settle for just talk or routines; our faith calls us to real-world compassion that proves it's genuine (James 2:14-17). Our church dives into this through local outreach, partnerships, and global efforts that tackle physical, emotional, and spiritual challenges, echoing God's call for justice and mercy (Micah 6:8; Isaiah 58:6-7) and the healing promise in Isaiah 53:5. No matter where you are in life—thriving, struggling, or somewhere in between—we're here to serve alongside you and invite you to be part of making a difference. Together, we can live out the Kingdom of God in ways that touch hearts and change lives.

Biblical inerrancy and Infallibility

We believe the Holy Bible—comprising both the Tanakh (Hebrew Scriptures/Old Testament) and the New Testament—is the complete, perfect, and fully inspired Word of God. As followers of Jesus the Messiah, we affirm that Scripture is the infallible and inerrant revelation from God, breathed out by Him through human authors under the precise guidance of the Holy Spirit. In its original writings, the Bible is without error, contradiction, or falsehood in all that it affirms—whether in matters of faith, doctrine, morality, history, or any other truth it declares (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 119:160; Proverbs 30:5).

This means the Scriptures are entirely trustworthy and reliable: God's unchanging truth given to guide humanity into relationship with Him through Jesus, to reveal His character, will, and redemptive plan. No other writing, tradition, experience, or human authority equals or supersedes the Bible's supreme place. It stands as the unchanging foundation for all our beliefs, doctrines, teachings, and practices as a church community.

We hold the Bible as the ultimate standard by which everything else is measured—welcoming people from every generation, background, and stage of faith (whether lifelong believers, those seeking answers, skeptics, or searchers) to encounter its living power. It speaks clearly and timelessly across cultures and eras, leading us to salvation in Jesus, calling us to loving obedience, and compelling us to compassionate service. We submit our lives, our ministry, our decisions, and our entire doctrinal framework to its clear, authoritative voice, trusting that God's perfect Word provides all we need for faith, life, and godliness (Isaiah 40:8; Psalm 119:105; John 17:17).

This unwavering conviction shapes who we are: a people devoted to studying Scripture diligently, applying its truths faithfully in daily life, and proclaiming its message boldly so that all might discover hope, forgiveness, transformation, and eternal life in Jesus the Messiah.

Together in Worship, Together in Mission

We believe the Bible commands us as followers of Jesus the Messiah to come together regularly as brothers and sisters in faith—for worship, fellowship, encouragement, and to carry out His work both in our local community and throughout the world.

Scripture calls us not to neglect gathering together, but to meet purposefully to stir one another toward love and good deeds, encouraging each other especially as we await Jesus' return (Hebrews 10:24-25). In the early church, believers devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching, to fellowship, to breaking bread, and to prayer; they shared life daily, met in the temple courts and in homes, praised God together, and saw the Lord add to their number daily those being saved (Acts 2:42-47). Where even two or three gather in Jesus' name, He is present among them (Matthew 18:20). Corporate worship—singing, praying, learning God's Word, and sharing in communion—builds us up as one body, united in Christ.

This gathering isn't just for our own benefit; it's the launchpad for living out Jesus' mission. He commissioned us to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything He commanded—promising His presence with us always (Matthew 28:18-20). We're sent to proclaim the gospel locally (our "Jerusalem") and globally (to the ends of the earth, Acts 1:8), serving others in tangible ways: feeding the hungry, welcoming strangers, caring for the sick, and visiting the imprisoned, as Jesus taught that serving "the least of these" is serving Him (Matthew 25:31-46).

As a church family, we prioritize coming together to worship God wholeheartedly, grow in faith through His Word, support and encourage one another, and equip every believer to do the work of ministry—whether through local outreach, community service, or global missions. This isn't optional; it's our biblical calling as the body of Christ. We invite everyone—long-time believers, newcomers, families, young and old—to join us in this shared life: worshiping together, loving one another deeply, and actively doing Jesus' work right here and around the world, so that more people might know His grace, forgiveness, and transforming power. Together, we reflect the Kingdom of God and fulfill His Great Commission with joy and purpose.

Doctrinal Statement on the Gifts of the Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Triune God, sovereignly bestows spiritual gifts upon all believers in Christ for the edification of the Church and the advancement of the Gospel. These gifts are not earned by human merit or works but are graciously given by the Spirit to those who have received salvation through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ alone, as described in Ephesians 2:8-9: "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."

In accordance with the teachings of the New Testament, we affirm that the gifts of the Holy Spirit remain active and operative in the Church today, as they were in the early apostolic era. These gifts are detailed in Scripture, including but not limited to:

  • The manifestation gifts listed in 1 Corinthians 12:7-11: the word of wisdom, the word of knowledge, faith, gifts of healing, the working of miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, divers kinds of tongues, and the interpretation of tongues.
  • The ministry gifts outlined in Romans 12:6-8: prophesying, serving, teaching, exhorting, giving, ruling (or leading), and showing mercy.
  • The equipping gifts described in Ephesians 4:11-13: apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers, given for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, and for the edifying of the body of Christ.

These gifts are distributed according to the will of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:11), not for personal glory or selfish ambition, but for the common good of the Church (1 Corinthians 12:7) and to equip believers for service in fulfilling the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20). We hold that all spiritual gifts must operate in submission to the authority of Scripture, both Old and New Testaments, which serve as the infallible rule for faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16-17). They are to be exercised in love (1 Corinthians 13:1-3), decency, and order (1 Corinthians 14:40), with a focus on glorifying Jesus Christ and building up His body.

We reject any teaching that diminishes the ongoing relevance of these gifts or elevates them above the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23), which evidences genuine maturity in Christ. Furthermore, we affirm that the pursuit and use of spiritual gifts should never compromise the foundational truth of justification by faith alone, nor lead to division, but rather promote unity in the bond of peace (Ephesians 4:3). All believers are encouraged to earnestly desire spiritual gifts (1 Corinthians 14:1), to test them by the Word of God (1 Thessalonians 5:19-21), and to steward them faithfully until the return of our Lord Jesus Christ.
